Springfield House welcomes in the New Year

Well, we have managed to sneak in a quick holiday over the New Year and are now up and running again fully refreshed. We can’t believe where the last year went, however with better weather hopefully 2011 will be kind to us all, however with February still to come who knows. We are already nearly at Spring Fair again, how quickly time goes by, it will be the Boat and Caravan show in February before we have blinked !! We wish all our past guests a very Happy and healthy New Year and hope to see you all again during 2011 !!

Snow gets to Springfield House

Like every  one else, we’ve been affected by the snow.  Whilst around here has been much less severley affected that other areas, it has certainly made us all wrap up warm.  Fortunately for us, it brought in extra guests, some people trying to fly from Birmingham Airport were stranded, unable to get to Scotland and spent a night with us at Springfield House.   It proved a much better option than sleeping on a bench in the departures lounge of BHX though !  Thankfully the routes in and out of the airport and NEC were all fine, so at least the show people got around no problem.

We’re off to the good food show

As it is John’s Birthday next weekend, we are off to to the Good Food Show for the day and to see a Gordon Ramsay demonstration. Not sure I really want John to develop Gordon’s communication skills in the kitchen each morning, but it should be a good day out. Now I just need to persuade John that I need a day at the Clothes Show in December as well !

Top Gear at the NEC

We are looking forward to the return of the Top Gear Live and the Classic Car Show at the NEC this weekend, welcoming back the same group of guys year on year who exhibit their very own classic cars.  As car enthusiasts the breakfast chatter makes entertaining conversation, and we can’t wait for our evening out with them.
